1st Crawley Scout Group
Welcome
Location
The 1st Crawley Scout Group was originally formed
somewhere between 1908 and 1910, soon after
Baden-Powell's experimental camp at Brownsea
Island in 1907 and the creation of the Boy Scouts
(as it was then known) in 1908 making it one of the
oldest Scout Groups in the world!
Sadly, diminishing numbers led to the group folding
in 2003, however since this time Scouting
nationwide and in Crawley has experienced a
resurgence and with numbers on waiting lists
growing across Crawley it was felt that the time was
right to restart the group at the headquarters it has
used since the 1950s.
So now we are back to stay! Beavers, Cubs and
Scouts have been relaunched and we intend to offer
an exciting programme of activities across all of the
age ranges.
